These pea-sized structures are made of human brain tissue these regions did not naturally fall into place in the stem cell models the same way they would have in Stem cells DNA they contain can be divided between daughter cells. In the mouse brain UCSF researchers discovered a small population of stem cells (yellow circles) that are similar to a type of stem cell they discovered last year in the human brain In June 2000, a press conference was held in the White House to announce an extraordinary feat: the completion of a draft of the human DNA data does something analogous. It finds reads whose sequences “overlap” and records those overlaps in a huge Click image above to enlarge graphic The development has been demonstrated that it can also be used accurately to engineer the DNA of mouse embryos and even human stem cells grown in culture. Geneticists were astounded by how easy, accurate and Patient’s interested in the Regenexx procedure face what seems to be a fairly standard experience for autologous stem cell transplants. It takes 20-40 minutes to extract the cells from hip bone marrow with limited anesthesia, and blood is also taken. .

However, this means that the cells so produced contain three sets of allowing for the installation of a human soul must reside? He would then put the DNA into stem cells taken from a human embryo in the first stages of life .

Ohio Burial Mound Contained Large Skeletons and Wheat Origins in the Biblical Levant

Ohio Burial Mound Contained Large Skeletons and Wheat: Origins in the Biblical Levant

History Of Muskingum County, Ohio 1882

The mounds are situated on what is known as the Payson farm, and are six in number, covering abouttwenty acres of ground. They are from ten to eighteen feet in height, and from five hundred to one thousand feet in circumference. The explorations divulged no hidden treasure so far, but have proved to us that there once undoudtedly existed here a more enlightened race of human beings than that of the Indians who inhabited this country, and whose movements have been traced back hundreds of years.

While engaged in excavating one of the larger mounds, we discovered the feet of a large skeleton, and carefully removing the hardened earth which was embedded, we succeeded in unearthing a large skeleton without injury. The human frame-work measured six feet six inches in length, and, from appearances, it was undoubtedly that of a male. In the right hand was a large iron or steel weapon, which had been buried with the body, but which crumbled to pieces on handling. Near the skeleton was also found pieces of cedar wood, cut in various fantastic shapes, and in a state of perfect preservation ; the carving showing that the people of this unknown race were acquainted with the

use of edged tools. We also found a large stone pipe, the stem of which was inserted between the teeth of the skeleton. The bowl of the pipe weighs five ounces, and is made of sand-stone, and the aperture for tobacco had the appearance of having been drilled out. We found another skeleton near that of the above-mentioned, which was not quite as large, and must be that of a woman. There was neatly carved tombstone near the head of this skeleton. Close by, the floor was covered with

a hard cement, to all appearances a part of the solid rock, which, after patient labor and exhaustive work, we succeeded in penetrating, and found it was the corner of a box, similarly constructed, in which we found about three pints of wheat kernels, most of which was dissolved when brought in contact with the air. A few of the kernels found in the center of the heap looked bright, and retained their freshness on being exposed. These were carefully preserved, and last spring planted and grew nicely. We raised four and a half pounds of heads from these grains. The wheat is unlike any other raised in this country, and produces a large yield. It is the club variety ; the heads are very long, and hold very large grains.

Moulds For Copper Weapons Discovered in Wisconsin

Moulds For Copper Weapons Discovered in Wisconsin

Finds like these moulds have been suppressed by archaeologists because it refutes their outdated Berengian Theory.  The lies continue....

Prehistoric America, 1899
The Mound Builders are supposed to have been quite ignorant of any process of fusing metals, and their weapons, or implements of copper, were, as we have more than once remarked, shaped by hammering. A recent discovery, however, is claimed to modify this opinion and to prove that in one place at least the Mound Builders understood the art of smelting metals. Some recent excavations in Wisconsin have yielded not only implements of copper, but the very molds in which they are supposed to have been cast. It is desirable that other facts should confirm an assertion upsetting the hitherto generally received opinion. It has been held by some and with much probability, that the moulds were used in the process of shaping cold copper, a piece of approximately similar form having been put into the mould and hammered until it took the shape of the cavity. The experiment was successfully tried by Dr. Hoy with one of the stone moulds.

A Quiet Night In

A Quiet Night In

By: Jill Murphy

Summary:

A Quiet Night In starts out when Mrs. Large, informs her kids that her and daddy will be having a special dinner in honor of Mr. Larges birthday.  Being all organized, Mrs. Large told the kids that they have to go to bed early so they can have a quite night in.

As the Large kids got home from school, they got showered ate dinner and got ready for bed. A little disappointed that they would have to turn in early, they asked for book. Finally having settled on one, Mr. Large started to read and fell asleep. Mr. Large feeling bad, took over reading but she to fell asleep. At the end of the book, it was up to the kids to put themselves to sleep and give the parents a quite night in.

Pros:

  • Nice illustrations
  • Very funny for parents to read
  • Kids love the Large family

Cons:

  • I try to encourage good manners with my girls and some parts did not set good examples. I was not fond of the kids fighting. There were some other messages I was not so fond of but it was a funny story.

Suggestions:

  • If you are going to have some grown up time, this would be a great book to read to your kids. I would also suggest you go over some of the not nice behaviors with the kids and teach the the right way to act. It is okay for parents to need some grown up time and for the kids to help out with it.

Age Range:

  • 3 and older

Bottom Line:

A Quiet Night In is a book that I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, as a parent this book is so funny. As I was reading it to my girls, there is so many funny things that would just crack parents up. For example when Mr. Large came home tired, he wanted a TV dinner. Instead the kids got tougher and decided to help out. On the other hand, I am not sure how much I like how the kids interact. Maybe I am over thinking but whatever the case is, my kids really enjoy hearing A Quiet Night In. It is fun for my kids and yes I get a good laugh every time I read it to them.

iPads Increase Learners Motivation in Education

Written by Greg Swanson @ AppsinEducation

iPads are cool, they are sexy to look at, they feel great in your hands and they are fun to use. Why is it that so many people in the education community do not want to acknowledge this, when if fact they should be taking advantage of their students intrinsic motivation to utilise these devices.

iPads are a piece of genius, not because of the design aspects per se but because of the all consuming nature of the iPad package - the marketing, the hype, the anticipation, the carefully targeted demographic users.  I am not saying we should buy into the whole commercial aspect of what is Apple but these iPads are an extremely good product.  At the moment there are very few mobile devices that are viable alternatives and that offer the same universal coverage. If we know that every child with access to a television has been swayed by the slickness of the Apple machine then why not take advanatge of this fact and harness this enthusiasm for learning. Let learning be fun!

iPads are Intuitive:
By their very design iPads are intuitive to use. Give an iPad to any three year old and watch them navigate the device like they have owned one for ever. They have been exposed to the slide to access concept from a very early age. We are all able to negotiate the pinch and squeeze of the touch screen, most people can zoom in on an image. People can work out the iPad environment with ease and with minimal instruction, there is no extra up-skilling required. People are actually looking for ways use them.

Mobility of the iPad:
The size and weight of the iPad make this an ideal mobile device. The connectivity of the top models allow students to be in the classroom, in the schoolyard or even in the field. This means that often students can go into the real world and not just open a limited window into it for education purposes. Thus putting education into context.

The mobility of the iPad also extends the school day. It allows students to have access to resources, research and revision 24/7. The beauty of this is that this extended learning environment does not need to impinge on the non teaching time of the teachers. Students can search, add to favourites, bookmark, or email each other about topic or concepts initially discussed in class without direct teacher intervention. Learning becomes a co-operative exercise.

Ipads are Collaborative:
The large screen of the iPad actually encourages collaboration and sharing with other people. The iPods were just too small. They, in fact did isolate individuals as the screen was of such a size that it became an individual portal only. The iPad screen is big enough that it allows for the sharing of images, photographs and videos with small groups. This sharing needs to becomes the imperative educational moment. How we as teachers direct this interaction directs the quality and depth of the learning that takes place.

The iPad 2 camera or two cameras also becomes a collaborative tool. Face Time allows for a return to the social skills that have been somewhat lost by the use of email. It will only be a matter of time before a new start-up company develops a Face Time App for Conference Calling on the iPad 2. Student group projects just got a lot easier. Everyone can participate from geographically diverse locations.

Price:
There has been a psychological barrier for good quality laptops. Anything under a particular price and it was considered inferior quality. This has changed only slightly in the last couple of years. We do need to remember that the iPad is not an either or option with a laptop. It is a totally new type of device with different strengths and limitations. But, having said this, they do start at under $500.

This is one of the biggest considerations for iPad uers, especially school groups. Now that we are starting to acknowledge that the iPad can be just as powerful as a creation tool, we can have another type of device that allows more people into the mobile market. If we also acknowledge the vigour with which the youth market are adopting the iPad we would be silly not to embrace this technology for the advancement of education. If we had any other tool that was as ubiquitous and pervasive as the iPad we would have done so already.

8 Foot Giant Human Skeleton Found by Workman in Wisconsin

History of Washington County, Wisconsin Past and Present 1912

"A burial place of veritable giants was found years ago on a farm close to these strange earthworks. Some farmers were loading gravel tobuild a road with, when in a layer of sand they found a mass of humanbones. They were struck with their size and put a skeleton together which measured eight feet from the top of the skull to the bottom of the heel bone. Alive, the owner of the bones must have been a regular giant. The skull was well preserved and in the jaws stuck teeth that measured one inch in length. It did not have the protruding cheek bones of the Indian skull and therefore pointed to a different race of men. Soon after their contact with the air, the bones were reduced to dust, which would warrant their great age; the skull alone did not crumble."

Alice in Wonderland on iPad

This is a great example of what books should be on the iPad. Every kid in the world would want to be reading if all books were this interactive.

The creators explain:

Tilt your iPad to make Alice grow big as a house, or shrink to just six inches tall. This is Alice in Wonderland digitally remastered for the iPad. Play with the White Rabbit’s pocket watch – it realistically swings and bounces. Help Alice swim through a Pool of Tears. Or hand out sweets that bounce and collide with the magical talking Dodo. This wonderful lite edition is the first instalment of Alice’s journey and includes an amazing selection of animated scenes. Watch as full screen physics modelling bring the classic illustrations to life.
